Our winter garden is still green, if growing very slowly. Some pictures of a recent snow event here in Raleigh, NC. Already getting itchy to start on this spring's vegetable garden. We're currently looking through seed magazines and deciding what we would like to plant. Looking forward to planting our spring greens for sure!

Our garlic that was planted in mid October.
Brussels sprouts shaking off the cold

Some of our onions getting chilled.

We put up some rain barrels the other day. We can now collect more than 100 gallons of rain water off our chicken coop. This will keep the chickens watered and anything left over will be used for our vegetable garden. The barrels are "linked" so when one fills, any extra water will flow into the second barrel.

...and she's still getting comfortable

...still working on it

Let's just say it's a work in progress

What's this funny business?

Our adopted chicken (Hermione) seen here with her head poking out from the nesting box, still thinks she belongs underneath a chicken. Here "mom", Pearl, goes to these nesting boxes at night and you can see she is trying to get comfortable.
